Organizational Arrangements During Construction (2026–2028)
Starting with the 2026–2027 academic year and continuing through September 2028, major construction work is underway at the SoCLE Library.
During this period, the collections will remain accessible by appointment. The library has been relocated to Wing C of the Stendhal Building (rooms C103 and C104), where materials can be checked out and returned.
Pickup and return of documents in Wing C of the Stendhal Building, Rooms C103 and C104
This temporary shelter includes:
Materials available for loan to all members of the public, accessible by reservation
A reception area with librarians available to answer any questions
Attention : Neither on-site reference services, workspaces, nor printing services will be available at this location. These services remain available at other UGA libraries. Near the UFR SoCLE, you will find the Bulles Library, the ARSH Library or even the Law and Humanities Department.
During this time, the library will continue to host cultural events, but they will take place off-site, in other locations on campus. Check out thecalendar as well as our social media channels to stay up to date on our latest news.
Librarians remain available—in rooms C103 and C104, as well as by email or phone—to assist and welcome library users during this renovation period.
How do I reserve documents?
Go to the BELUGA catalog and log in to your account (using your LEO or AGALAN credentials). You must be logged in to request a book.
Search by selecting the "in the library" filter
Click on the desired document, then, under the “Request” section: “Reserve/Have Delivered” and “Pickup Library: SoCLE Library”
Within 2 days, you will receive an email letting you know that you can come pick up your book (Please note: if the book is already checked out, it may take longer).

Key Issues in the Project
The SoCLE Library renovation project is part of the Smart Campus initiative, led and developed by the UGA to renovate the Stendhal buildings. For the SoCLE Library, this involves:
A comprehensive renovation of the spaces, including energy-efficiency upgrades to the building
The creation of a training room, a break room, and additional workspaces
Both the interior floor area of the library (450 m² dedicated to public spaces) and the layout of the various spaces remain unchanged
