UFR SoCLE short story competition

Since 2020, the UFR SoCLE has organized a short story competition at the beginning of each year, open to all 1st, 2nd and 3rd year LEA, LLCER and Erasmus students enrolled at the UFR.
A theme is defined each year. Students choose an appropriate translation in the language of writing, from German, English, Spanish, Italian, Russian or French for Erasmus students only.

Students must adhere to publishing guidelines and the genre of the short story, a concise, effective narrative. Characters must be built into a coherent story, and the plot must be developed with a clear punchline. The literary quality and creativity of the entries are also assessed.

A jury of teachers selects the three best short stories per language. A prize-giving ceremony is held at the end of the competition.
