Career guidance and integration meetings

Highlights L3 LLCER and LEA - UFR SoCLE
Training
This event, which took place in February 2023, was designed to promote the courses offered by the UFR SoCLE (Sociétés, Cultures et Langues Étrangères), by giving students the opportunity to meet professionals, and raising their awareness of the courses on offer.

Objectives

The event is designed to support students' personal and professional projects, giving them the opportunity to look beyond their studies. The timing of the action, ahead of the application deadlines for courses (L3 pro, Masters), is designed to help them anticipate their plans.
  • Promote UFR LE Masters courses: present them in direct relation to the needs of the job market and the skills they prepare students for.
  • Exchanges with professionals: confronting representations with the reality of real-life experiences; encouraging contacts and networking for students and teachers alike.
  • Keep the alumni network alive: maintain links with alumni and put their experience to work for their former courses; promote the influence of UFR LE degrees.
It seems important to remind students of the value on the job market of the diplomas we prepare them for, which imply the acquisition of real skills, and to give them the opportunity to project themselves beyond their studies by exchanging ideas with professionals.

Target audience

Priority was given to L3 students enrolled in LLCER and LEA and, subject to availability, to L2 students wishing to take part in the event. Students from Valentin were provided with a bus to take part in the event.

Course

A number of professionals, teachers, students and former Master's graduates were on hand to answer students' questions.
Professionals were given the floor at the start of the session to briefly introduce themselves and explain how the knowledge and skills acquired in the LEA and LLCER programs are essential in their respective fields of activity.
Once these presentations had been made, the speakers were given ample space in the lecture halls, so that students could meet them in small groups and engage in informal discussions.

The discussions were organized around 5 themes:
  • Translation professions
  • Trade Professions
  • Teaching professions
  • Cultural Professions
  • Environmental professions
