Exhibition and meeting with the KompasGuide publishing house

KompasGuide, an independent publisher specializing in Russian-language children's literature, has just celebrated its 15th anniversary. It has offered Russian-speaking students some twenty books that are virtually impossible to find elsewhere in France.
The SoCLE library welcomed from November 6 to 27, 2024 exhibition of books generously donated by the KompasGuide publishing house. The books are accompanied by posters presenting the history of the publisher, who has been publishing children's books in Russian and translating other children's books from French and Hungarian into Russian for the past 15 years.

Other posters focus on The sugar child by Olga Gromova, a rare example of a children's book written in Russian and translated into other languages.

To mark the opening of the exhibition, Vitali Ziusko, founder of KompasGuidewas at the SoCLE library to present his publishing house and its books.

He has also worked with Master LLCER Russian and Master TSM English-Russian students. It focuses on the the children's book market in Russia and the collaboration between publishers and translators.

A translation workshop led by Laure Thibonnier will take place in the second half of 2024-2025. Students will be placed in the position of professional translators of children's literature during the translation workshop. Finally, Vitali Ziousko's lectures will enable them to explore the field of children's publishing.
