In L3LLCER Spanish, the guided tour was part of the History of Spanish Painting XX-XXth class.
XXth century Spanish painting". Thanks to upstream discussions with the museum's mediation department, the tour actually brought together two
the museum's pedagogical offer, in order to cover a broad artistic panorama, in line with the chronological limits of the CM.
These "Hors les Murs" visits enable students to step outside the classroom and visit a major cultural institution in Grenoble. After a survey of all the groups, 78% of the students had never been to the museum before.
Linked to the Image and Visual Culture courses taught, these guided tours are also an opportunity to discuss art in a different way from the teacher, with a different approach and academic specialization, thanks to the mediator's comments, which complement, nuance, deepen or enrich the elements presented in class. In this sense, the guided tour is an excellent intermediary between the campus and the museum, and finds its rightful place in the curricular construction of students' artistic culture.
For both groups, it's undeniable that our students have seen the value of the knowledge acquired at the University, not simply to wander through the rooms but, on the contrary, to have the satisfaction of identifying, recognizing and understanding the codes and issues, on the scale of the paintings (for the L3s) or of the museum (for the M1s).
