M2 LEA RESET students discover street art, as part of a course entitled "Environment and interculturality". The association that runs the SpaceJunk Art center, the originator of Grenoble's Street Art Fest, introduced them to the "Ecology-Urban Art" course.
The ways in which certain street artists are involved were presented, in connection with the course theme (reappropriation of urban spaces, multidisciplinary and often collaborative projects, visual environmental education, residualism, etc.), in order to familiarize students with the techniques and issues involved in these artistic expressions.
The guided tour was rich and varied: the students observed some fifteen works throughout the visit, with very different approaches, constraints and creations. The intercultural dimension was highlighted by the different universes (personal, professional training, aesthetic inspiration) commented on...
Thanks to this guided tour, the students were able to appreciate :
the interest and usefulness of the theoretical knowledge provided upstream, guaranteeing both a more technical and aesthetic reading of these frescoes devoted to ecology
the rich urban art heritage of the city in which they are studying, the extent and diversity of which they may not have previously appreciated
the invaluable link between knowledge and know-how, with the university as the ideal vehicle for understanding intercultural issues
the civic and eco-citizen culture that these studied elements have enabled them to enrich or acquire.
